BIFR Status

  • NJMC Ltd was referred to BIFR in 1992 and declared a sick company by BIFR in 1993.
  • BIFR finalized the Scheme on 5th January 2011 for Revival.


  The revival plan consisted of the following steps:
  • Closure of three mills — National, Union, Alexandra.
  • Operating the remaining three mills – Kinnison, Khardah, and RBHM.
  • Implementation of VRS to all the permanent Officers and Employees of NJMC Ltd.
  • However despite showing some improvement, the mills could not run  as planned due to industrial problems as well as  due to inefficiency of the contractors, resulting in frequent suspension of work, which ultimately led to the closure of the mills.
